The Dock allows users to play music from an iPod or iPhone and stream it wirelessly to all the speakers in the home.
The Dock is a relatively minor accessory, but it's a welcome addition to the Sonos system, which is essentially a media hub that connects wirelessly with speakers around your home. You buy the hub, and then as many modules as you want, and they all connect to a Wi-Fi network to stream audio around your house. Previously, the system only worked through your PC?compatibility with the iPod, the music player of choice for many, is a smart move.
The Dock is compatible with the iPod touch (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation), iPod classic, iPod nano (3rd, 4th, and 5th generation), iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPhone. It will be available by the end of October, and will cost $119.
